There is an important change in our burning policy for the outdoor range. There will only be burning of yard waste - no more burning of targets, target backers or any other waste generated by shooting activities or construction at the range. Besides being against the law it is a good thing for Iowa's environment. This brings to the foreground that whatever waste you generate at the range - PLEASE TAKE IT HOME WITH YOU! If you leave it, a volunteer will have to do your job, dispose of it properly - we all want to pull our own weight.

March's meeting will be at Lime Creek Nature Center, we will hold all monthly meetings there until April when we will move back out to the club house at the outdoor range.

The Club' annual gun show is coming March 20th and 21st. We will need more volunteers this year since we will have tables to put up and take down. Also we need to clean the armory when finished also. There will be a rummage at the club table so any items you have that are of value please drop off Friday night of the show or Saturday or Sunday. There are still tables available so if you have some items you would like to sell or display you can get in touch with Phil McCormick at 641.357.6253.

Following the general membership meeting Dave Johnson will hold a clinic for the new varmint benchrest matches he will host this spring and summer. He will have a power point presentation and as many props as he can carry. Spring fever is on its way and we can hardly wait for the first spring days spent at the range. We all have big plans for this coming outdoor shooting season. Come to the meeting and enjoy Dave's presentation.

Indoor shooting is winding down - the four position rifle league has but a few sets of targets due and then we will be done the second week of March. Tuesday night pistol will continue thru the end of March.

The trap range will be in use Thursdays 4PM till 6PM March 18th thru the first few weeks of April by the Northwood - Kensett trap team. This is a sure sign of spring!
