November 2009 Monthly Newsletter

November's meeting we will be at Lime Creek Nature Center,

we will hold all monthly meetings there until next April when we will move back out to the range.

Saturday October 31st there will be the first varmint match shot at the new range. Sight in will start at 8:30 AM with the match starting at 9AM. This technically will be a factory rifle match but anything you bring to the range will be legal to shoot. The targets range in size from the size of the palm of your hand to the size of a match head. All firing is done from the 200 yard line. You will need twenty rounds plus what ever you shoot for sighters before the match starts. A ten power scope may work but a fifteen or higher would be better. A rifle rest or a bipod and rear bag is also needed. There will no charge for this match since it will be a warm up for next year's matches. The match should finish up before noon.

Club officer elections are coming up fast - December's meeting. We are looking for nominations for Vice President, Secretary, Range Officer and two Directors. If you or a member you know are interested please attend the next two meetings or get in contact with a club officer.

Club Garands and 22 rim fire rifles need to be checked in this month. If you have a Garand checked out you need to contact Jim Klemme at 423-1945. If you have a club 22 rim fire target rifle you need to contact Andy Hill at 430-2012. We need to inspect these rifles and redo paperwork for 2010.

The SOP and SOP update are in the process of being updated. If you have any suggestions on what should be included for 2010 you should attend the November meeting.

The range has looked so good all year we need to carry this into the late fall and winter months.

I need to emphasize that our shooting hours are dawn till dusk except Sundays and holidays when they are 8am till dusk. Also we need to sign in with our complete name or first name and ID tag number - please try to write legibly.

Safe hunting and see you at the meeting.
