Saturday September 12th at 9:00AM - registration at 8:30AM Richard Grant will host another action pistol match. Richard had a good turn out at the last general membership meeting and hopes to have a lot of shooters for this match. All you need is a center fire revolver or pistol with a holster that covers the trigger and approx. 80 to 100 rounds of ammo.

Something new this year is a trap appreciation shoot and dinner Saturday September 12th. The match will start at 12:30PM and last approximately till 4:30 or 5:00PM with burgers and brauts following. A shooter will shoot 100 birds with the first 50 shot at 16 yards. The shooter's total birds shot at 16 yards divided by 2 will set his handicap for his second fifty birds. Say you shot a 20 and an 18 at 16 yards (total 38 birds) you will shoot from the 19 yard line for your second 50 birds. If time allows after the 100 birds we will shoot some trap games such as guts - so bring more than 100 rounds of shells. The cost will be $20 which will include the meal afterward.

There will be another 22 rim-fire rifle silhouette match Sunday September 13th at 3PM. This will more than likely to be the last of the season so mark it on your calendar. These matches don't take too long and are fun but very challenging to shoot.

Also September 19th there will be a high power rifle clinic in the morning at 9AM. This will cover shooting positions, use of the sling. Reading the wind and mirage and deciding on your rifle's no wind zero.

Following the clinic will be an obsolete military rifle match. Any outdated military rifle - from any country - is welcome. This match will follow some of the guidelines of the CMP Garrand matches that are so popular nowadays. It will consist of five sighting shots taken prone at 200 yards followed by 20 shots slow fire prone (20 minutes) at 200 yards. 10 shots rapid fire prone (70 seconds with a reload) at 200 yards, 10 shots sitting rapid fire (60 seconds with a reload) and 10 shots standing slow fire (10 minutes) at 200 yards. The club will have some CMP '06 ammo for sale the day of the match for use in the match only. The cost of the '06 ammo is $17.50 for 60 rounds. The cost of the match will be $10 for adults and $5 for juniors. Minimal awards will be given out. This should be a fun match and it will give everyone a good excuse to drag out that old rifle and shoot it.

Sunday September 20th we will host a high power rifle match. This will be an across the coarse match starting at 9PM and getting over approx. 3:30PM.

Dennis Greischar is looking for volunteers to man a club table and check firearms into his gun show September 5th & 6th. If you can man the table a couple of hours one day or the other please contact Dennis at 420-0446. Be sure to attend Dennis' show also 8AM to 5PM on Saturday and Sunday 9AM to 3PM.

The range has looked so good all spring and summer we need to carry this into the fall and winter months.
