About the Club
The River City Rifle and Pistol Club (RCR&PC) was incorporated in 1968 in Mason City,
Iowa as a non-profit organization to promote civilian marksmanship, proper gun safety, competitive spirit, conservation of
natural resources, and to provide a safe and proper place to shoot.
The RCR&PC has members from a broad spectrum
of occupations in our communities. Members include families, men, women, and youth who reside in several counties not
limited to Winnebago, Mitchell, Cerro Gordo, Franklin, and Worth counties.
We shoot a wide variety of disciplines
such as:
NRA High Power Power Rifle
Bullseye Pistol Shooting
Trap
Cowboy Action Shooting
CMP Rimfire Sporter
Running Deer
plus many others. Many of our members simply use the range for sighting-in their
hunting rifles.

The Future of River City Rifle and Pistol Club
As of July, 2009, the River City Rifle and Pistol Club is approximately 90% finished constructing and building our new
range facility at the southeast corner of Jonquil Avenue and B-20. We now have electricity to the range, the club
house from the old range has been moved to the new range and is currently under renovation, there is a new sign-in station
at the entrance, and finishing work is taking place on the remainder of the range.
In
the next ten years River City Rifle and Pistol Club has proposed to build an education and indoor shooting sports facility
on the northwest corner of the range. This facility would enable year round use of both rim-fire and center-fire handguns,
smallbore rifles, and air rifles. Training, education, and competitions will be highly promoted at this new indoor shooting
sports facility in addition to being used by the membership.
